to_make is a Melbourne based architecture practice that has been in existence since 2001. We love design, construction, research and the idea of passing on information.

to_make was founded by Tom Bulic, who graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Architecture and from Monash University with a Bachelor of Science. He is a member of the Newport Traders Association and is involved as a tutor at Melbourne School of Design, University of Melbourne. He advocates for stronger ties between community groups and local government and is a member of Architeam’s Advocacy Committee.

The to-make work philosophy is predicated upon an examination of the relationship between the material and the immaterial – the stuff you make with your hands and the thought that goes into making it.

What we do

We guide the design process from initial client brief (and budget) through to schematic design, town planning, obtaining the building permit, finding a suitable builder and overseeing the building process.

We use models, 3D images and quick hand drawn sketches  to convey ideas about design, space and environmental sustainability and at all times act to meet the brief and budget.
